Your Best Friend's Home Away from Home! ™

Our Golden location was started as Waggin' Tails back in 1996, making it one of the first day cares in the Denver area. The current owners purchased Waggin' Tails in 2003 and operated under that name until 2007. At the beginning of 2007 we changed the name to our corporate name - Rover Retreat.

At this facility we have 2,200 square feet of indoor play space and 1,400 square feet of outdoor space. We have different types of kennels so we can provide your dog with a space that makes them comfortable. Some dogs, like King pictured here, only spend the night in a kennel. At 17 he should get to enjoy some perks so he spends nap time in the lobby with a tennis ball and a staff member!

In the summer we put out kiddie pools and sun shades to keep your dog cool. We also have a misting hose along the fence to cool the area. Year round we keep the door open so dogs can go in and out as they please. The indoor area is cooled in the summer and heated in the winter to keep everyone comfortable.

Irish takes a break!

We are members of the Pet Care Services Association (since 2003), the Colorado Association of Dog Daycares (since 2006) and the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau (since 2004). We currently hold an A+ rating with the BBB.

As with all our facilities, we offer Dog Day Care and Overnight Boarding services, including specialized attention from our experienced staff. We work hard to learn your dog's personality, likes, dislikes and special needs!

We will never make you feel silly for asking questions, calling to check on your dog, sharing dog stories, or asking us to point out your dog's new best friend at school.
